1-Panel Comics

Selections from a 4-color panel-a-day challenge:

"Gumball Machine", "Communication", "High Dive", and "Customers"

Flesh

Small personal meditations on bodies and touch over the years.

'Comfort', 'Kiss', 'Consumption', 'Ladder', 'Hygiene', and 'Newborn'

Nail Polish Colors

Wouldn't it be fun to be the person who gets to name these?

Here's a professional businesswoman with a cool job.

Multi-etta

A Pokémon redesign challenge that I took a lot of liberties with. I was randomly assigned Meloetta, and gave her three different makeovers.

Kite Goblin

Drawn for one of Evan Dahm's Goblin Weeks. Just a guy using what he has to make what he can.

Bottomless Well

Spoilers for something close to my heart! The title comes from Psapp's The Well and the Wall.

Big Tree

From a park where I used to live. Some frisbee players warned me to watch my head while I sat there drawing it. I think watching my head should have been their job.

Terrarium

A lizard in a nice little habitat.

Let's Build Something Together

A banner designed to promote a print shop I used to work at.

See also some process shots, featuring the initial sketch and early color scheme.

Franklin's Pork & Barrel

Initial version of lettering & logo for a bar & grill.

After a round of feedback, two revised drafts. From here only slight changes were made to the final. (Personally it was my least favorite, but at least they kept the bowtie on the pig.)

A set of stained glass windows designed for a home renovation.

Initial design, mockup with revisions based on logistical feedback from the glassmaker, and photos of finished panels and installation.

Actual glasswork, and pre-installation photos, by Jacqui Bush of Stained Glass Unlimited.

Cafe Portraits (10-20 min.)

Quick colored pencil drawings of Clay, Stacey, Mack, Jeanine, and two mystery men.

Cafe Portraits (20-30 min.)

A bit more refined drawings of people who sat still a little longer: Barbara, Janne, Wes, Jedidiah, and four strangers.

Cafe Portraits (30+ min.)

Renderings of Adrian, Erlson, and someone I wish I'd met instead of just looked at.

Sibling Portraits 2016
